Casey’s General Stores purchases 11 EZ Go locations

Casey’s General Stores has acquired 11 convenience stores from Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores eight months after the travel-center chain purchased the stores from Carey Johnson Oil Co.

The EZ Go-branded stores are in Oklahoma and Nebraska and will be rebranded to the Casey’s retail brand. Some of the sites are already selling Casey’s pizza, while other sites are being assessed for kitchen and merchandising space. News of the acquisitions was first reported by KSWO in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Oklahoma City-based Love’s acquired the EZ Go stores in April. The acquisition included six truckstops located on Oklahoma turnpikes, five on the Kansas turnpike and the 11 convenience stores for a total of 22 stores. These were the first ever turnpike locations for Love’s.

In September, Love’s reported it had rebranded four of the truckstops, with the others to follow.

Ankeny, Iowa-based Casey’s has more than 2,500 convenience stores in 16 Midwestern states.
